Florida Trip

While Joe was away, R & I went to visit our family in Florida: My dad, brother and grandmother. It was a beautiful 80 degrees and sunny almost every day we were there. Nice!

We were able to visit Babci in her assisted living apartment. I was pleasantly surprised at how cute it is there. Nick, myself & R took her shopping and to lunch. Robin posing with his great grandmother aka Pra-Babci.

Gotta love grandparents

Hello, hello! We are still working things out with a house in New Orleans. We'll keep you posted when it goes through. This time of year there is a lot of change, I guess it mimics nature. We are so busy and will be right up until we move, probably end of May.

Luckily Joe's work trip got postponed a few days so he got to spend time with his parents when they came to visit. We took the Jamestown Ferry over to Surry. Cool for the kid to drive onto the ferry and be able to get out, and it's free!

Father and son.
Father and son and Abuela.
When Abuela & Big Papa left, we hit Inflation Nation for the Preschool's fundraiser.
Then, thankfully, we got a nice, long visit with Grammy. Two peas in a pod, these two. Yes, those are Nerf shooting goggles he insisted on wearing.
Hide-and-seeking in the tunnels in the neighborhood golf course.
Robin was a pro at milking more than a couple books at bedtime with Grammy. But I suppose that's what grandparents are for...breaking the rules, right? Although I don't remember that too much when I was growing up.
Next time I'll have pics from our trip to Florida to see my Dad & brother which is coming soon.

Winter in Williamsburg

Hi all. Things have been busy here, although you won't see it in the photos.
I thought winter here was through when it was 75 degrees and sunny this weekend, but today I actually saw snow flurries and it was back down to mid 30's. I suppose winters in New Orleans will be even better!
R is into Toy Story and receiving special toys for his big boy accomplishments like not using Mom's ear to fall asleep and sleeping all night in his own room. Yay!

Pajama day at preschool...books were read in a huge tent.

Fun at school

Robin & Noah playing post office.

Here is R watching videos while we were house hunting in New Orleans. Poor kid had strep throat and with a 104 fever we had to bring him to the ER. Although we got a lot done on the home front and preschool search, there was no sight-seeing to be had. We'll put an offer in on a house this week, and have base housing as our back-up.

Joe got to see Robin get his gymnastics ribbon. Robin was so excited Dad was there and very proud of himself.

Happy Birthday to me.

Joe & Robin got me a bike this year. Also, a smaller 1/2 bike attachment so Robin & I can ride together. What a great idea! Yes, the placement of Morrissey the kitty is comical here.

Haven't been on a bike in a while. I wanted to try it before the kid was on the back to see what the extra weight felt like. It was just fine. I guess the true test will be going uphill.
The boys taking it for a spin.
The insisted on Princess cake that Robin ordered all by himself, except that I drove him and pushed him in the cart to the bakery section of the supermarket.
Here's hoping for an awesome year!

Happy New Year! Exciting News! Amy's Birthday!

Happy New Year!
We enjoyably spent New Year's Day with our friends the Dubs, as we do most holidays.

Exciting News!
Joe got the call from the detailer on Friday. I realize there's always a chance things could change, but it seems pretty certain that we are moving to...drum roll...New Orleans! Excited and nervous and all that. You know how it is. If anyone reading our blog knows a lot about NO, please get me your 411. We'll keep you updated on the move and stuff.

Amy's Birthday!
Amy, Tom and baby Olin came down for a visit. Amy &Tom had meetings in Yorktown and poor baby O was sick the whole time. :( I didn't get a cute photo of him while he was here, but feel free to check him out on Amy's blog which I have listed to the left (Adventures on Capitol Hill).
Robin's cool new hat.

Nora, Amy & me. What is funny here you cannot see. The heating vent above Amy's head had taken care of blowing out her candles for her.

My birthday is tomorrow. Just felt like sharing. ;)

Merry Christmas!

Santa was good to us this year.

Boys lounging. Not too much better than lazy Christmas morning with a fire going.
Then an early morning flight to Boston to see family.
Annmarie & Eric. This year we did an "As seen on tv" gift exchange with the siblings. No, no shake weights were given/received. We did score a pirate skull snuggie and Big Top cupcake mould.
Sisters-in-law
Priya using her new drawing board.
We left Shrewsbury that night and headed to Cape Cod to see my Mom and brother. Had hoped to see extended family, but were snowed in at Mom's house and couldn't get out or get visitors. Family photo: Seamus, Mom, Robin, Justin.
Then it was back to Billerica when the storm was over to pummel Big Papa...
...and snuggle cousins.
Can't forget authentic snowing in New England! Although this storm hit Virginia while we were gone too. Most snow in over 100 years for Hampton Roads. Wow!
Met Auntie Lisa for dinner in Cambridge :)
Our flight home was New Year's Eve so we stopped by Uncle Eddy & Aunt Pupi's house. Almost the whole Montes family was there. It was great fun, and I finally heard the Cuban tradition of the 12 grapes at midnight. Here is Johnny & Elsa.
And the ladies man was in the house.

Until next year!

Christmas is coming.

In honor of Myles' 2nd birthday, the gang drove up and we went to Christmastown at Busch Gardens. It didn't seem as cold as last year and there was a lot to see. Here we are at the house before heading out. My son looks like a cupcake monster in this one.
