Our trio together again

Joe is home. For details of his trip, you'll have to ask him, and even then I don't know if he can tell you. However, we are happy to have him home! When he came back, we attempted to explore downtown Portsmouth, the downpours put a snag in the plan. But here's a pic of Joe & Robin at the restaurant we stopped at.So, I can't believe how much I miss teaching yoga. I think about it a lot while I'm taking classes at the Y. When Robinson is comfortable with the daycare there, maybe I can actually commit to teaching a class. So, yesterday, we hung out in the daycare for a little while. Today, Joe & I actually got a leg work out in while he was in there. I'm sure it was harder for me than it was for Robinson. He cried a little when we first left, but that was that. Although, Nina, one of the caregivers, was holding him the whole time, and made sure he was distracted. So, hopefully this will be a start, and then I can actually go to a class when Joe is away. Here I am with my little guy...anybody out there got an idea of what he could be thinking? "Don't mess with my Mama"?Also new this week is what the little man is up to. He has been imitating Joe & I. He'll point with his finger, wave with his whole arm, and shake his head no. I'll try to get the head shaking on video. He has a big smile and is trying to stare at you while his head is going back and forth. Very cute. He's attempting crawling on his hands, but elbows are the faster, preferred method still. He's also started pulling himself up on things. Man, this kid is getting busier and busier. (If anyone's wondering, Lex is still MIA)

More friends!

I'm so excited Joe will be home tomorrow. In the meantime, though, we got to see two more friends yesterday!blurry pic of our friend Michelle who Robin took to almost right awayThese are what the knee pads look like, MomAmy stayed over last night. Robin loves her and the barking dog he got from Abuela & Papi is finally a big hit.

Yesterday, we took another trip to Animal Control looking for Lex. I knew he probably wasn’t there, but it got us out and I was hoping Robin would like seeing all the cats and dogs. There were adorable kittens, but the dogs were too much for the baby. The barking was so loud, and the Michael Vick pitbuls were just scary. Poor dogs. Grammy sent us more photos from her trip, which I’ll post below. Grandparents really are great as my friend Alison said on her blog. While they were here, they managed to watch Robinson so Joe & I could see The Bourne Ultimatum, spend many hours just playing with him, bought him lots of toys, took us out to eat, cooked for us, outfitted him in new clothes, and even did fix-it jobs around the house. Wow! Aren’t we lucky?Grammy & Robin had fun in the poolRobinson loves to chew on my face and chinLots of splashing

Uh oh...

Watch out world, I'm mobile now and have the rug burns to prove it. Yes, I went out and bought those silly knee pads at Babies R Us. And peek-a-boo is still a favorite

Visitors, lost pets & mastitis...yay.

Okay, so only the "visitors" part of the title was a real yay. Wow, Joe goes away for two weeks and it seems the "excitement" around here skyrockets. Right before Joe left, his parents and my Mom came to visit. We were lucky to have Abuela & Big Papi for 4 days and Grammy for a week. As usual, it took Robin a long time to warm up to other people (sorry, grandparents), but the more he sees them, the easier it gets. The same day Joe left was the same day Lex left :(. Lex is our kitty and he has yet to return home. We are very sad and have been posting flyers and checking with Animal Control. I have stopped wandering the neighborhood with Robinson in tow, calling his name. I don't know what else to do. I'm still hanging on to hope that he'll mosey on home on his own. Ahh, yes, then it was a nice trip to the ER where I was treated for Mastitis...yipee. Thank God Grammy was still here to take Robin while they pumped me with IV fluids and antibiotics. Hours later, luckily the Benadryl took care of my itchy allergic reaction. I empathize with all of you that have had it...yuck. So, we're on our own waiting for Joe to return from his "killing bad guys" training. We're not allowed to have contact, no phone, no email, but one of his guys got medically discharged from training and called us to say Joe was fine. That was good news.Big Papi, Abuela, Robinson First crusty bread.."Arrrgh"Reading with AbuelaPlaying a drum on his 8 month birthday...see Lex in the background :(Matching outfitsYet another new taste while the grandmas were here. I guess we now know we're not allergic to strawberries. Yummy smoothie. More pics of this visit to come...Rish-I'll try & get some of me.

Yum, yogurt!

We discovered tonight that vanilla YoBaby yogurt is Robinson's favorite food so far. Check out the eyebrows at the end of the video. His two top front teeth are also muscling their way in now. Pretty soon we will have more company...wahoo! Amy Wirts is in Yorktown this month so we'll see her Sunday & Monday (& hopefully again while she's here), Abuela & Poppy will be here on the 9th and Grammy gets here on the 12th. I am especially happy since Joe will be leaving for a couple weeks, and then I will have someone to talk to. It's great that Robin's grandparents get to spend time with him. Dziadziu (my Dad) already came up in June. More updates to come. Thanks for checking in with us. :)

Doesn't he look so much older in this last photo?
