In addition to having fun at the park, we have great news. Joe has been selected to make LCDR next summer (that means a promotion). Congrats, hubby, I never had a doubt anyway. Also Congrats to all you other Coasties out there who read this. Robin is getting his eighth tooth and starting to cruise the furniture. He climbed his first stairs today. Go, go, go I guess.
Pretty settled here in New Orleans. Follow along if you wonder what we're up to. Miss you friends and family everywhere!

Presents and food...sounds good to me.
We came home from a walk last week and there were two huge boxes on our doorstep. Cousin Bodhi sent us presents, for no special reason. Well, he thinks R is ready for bigger boy toys, and he was right.
Robinson liked the boxes and packing material...of course
so did the cat

Ya, ya, I know, don't give your baby sugar until he's one. Like that's easy, have you read the ingredients in baby food? puffy things? Anyway, Robin gets a taste of icecream. Sorry about the video quality.
Getting very good at self-feeding...not just what's in the cup..whatever he finds on the floor too.

I got a hair cut :)
Okay, so we've spent tons of time outside...walking, stroller class, the pool...but we never just sat in the grass before. Judging by his reaction, the scratchy grass was a little unfamiliar.

We got to meet baby Griffin last night...and lucky me got to hold him. Wow, 6 day old babies are amazing. It was breathtaking and scary at the same time. I can't believe I changed and dressed a baby that small before. Robinson and Trey played (sat next to each other) really well together.

Trey let us borrow his pull-up wall before baby Griffin needs it. It's been in the house less than 24 hours, and he LOVES it!

Playing with my new toys...
Yay, we finally got to go to Richard & Michelle's. Here is their son, Trey combing Joe's hair...err...scalp. Michelle is due with their next baby in less than 2 weeks!
This is what the boys do while Mom buys new jeans
Mom has rediscovered the Pack 'n Play and I like it too for short periods

more family & a lazy Labor day
Well, we have family in the area! Only a few miles away, actually. My Aunt Adele (my grandfather's sister) & Uncle Ed came down for a wedding for my Uncle Fred (my grandfather's brother) & Aunt Alice's granddaughter. That shouldn't have been too confusing. Anyway, we went over for a visit and then met up at my Dad's cousin Janice's house. Everyone was super nice and we had a good time. Hopefully, we'll be able to see them again and take Janice up on her babysitting offer one day :).

Robinson has started using his hands to crawl instead of his elbows. I think he would have started yesterday, but he was sick. He had his first bug, but luckily there is no fever today and he is in much better spirits. That's why we had a lazy Labor Day. We were excited to go see our good friends Richard & Michelle for a barbecue, but the sick baby had us staying home and running to the store for pedialyte for him & a video for us."What is that next to the baby?" you ask. Well, that's the cat that did not run away...don't know if she could actually run. Anyway, had to get a picture of our 18 pound baby next to our enormous Morrissey. By the way, 7 teeth total.
Gorgeous sweaters Auntie 'Del knit for Robinson...

Robin update
So, yesterday, the little man had his 9 month doctor visit, even though he won't be 9 months until the 11th. Anyway, he is doing well, but I think we have to lose the nickname "Tank" for a while. Joe thinks it should now be "scooter" since his weight & height are now in the 25%. He was smiling and happy with everyone at the office, but man, what is it with that crunchy white paper they put on the examining table? Lucky no shots at this one, but that paper gets him every time. Robinson has begun to figure out how to sit up from laying down and how to pull himself to stand. He is a climber. We're also teaching him hi and bye waves. I saw him peek at himself in the mirror today and wave to himself. So cute. Oh, almost forgot, another tooth has sprouted. The count is up to 5, with a few more close behind. Here's an okay video of shaking his head no...
