Miami

Joe was going to a friend's retirement in Miami. We tagged along for our last mini vacation before his deployment.  First day we rented a boat and cruised around Miami.

Ah, this is the life.

It was like nothing had changed though.
I love that about great friendships.

R took to Angie immediately.

Easter 2012

Baseball Season beginning

We went for the weekend to visit the
Dubnanskys in Destin. It was great!

Good shot of Shadow's poofy mane.

Such a character and very sweet. I have never heard him hiss.
He always keeps his claws in when pouncing on you.

Easter morning. Joe had to work,
but Robin found every last egg.

Joe got home in time for us to go to City Park for their annual egg hunt. Even though they had hidden 15,000 eggs, they were all gone before half of the crowd even entered the gate. :( Boo.  They really should limit the amount of eggs to grab.  Robin was very bummed out, but we stayed and rode some rides and the highlight was seeing the easter Bunny.

Cute Easter Bunny this year. Last year he looked a little odd.

Mooks visit for Mardi Gras

January went by fast, in part, because I started grad school.  It's an online program...Northwestern State University of Louisiana...MS in Health & Human Performance (health promotion).  Basically increasing health education in the community...would like to one day bring my knowledge of yoga, nutrition, physical fitness, emotional fitness, etc. all together to emphasize caring for "the whole person".  So many physical problems are tied to our emotional and nutritional health.  So interesting!

For our first Mardi Gras, the Mook family took us up on our offer to come stay. So, we hit some parades and the zoo with the kids, did a girls night vampire tour (freaking me right out), and even did grown-up night for Lundi Gras. Thank you, babysitter.  Much fun was had all week...

Like old times...well...maybe even a little more fun.
Feather boas make everything more fun!

Bret Michaels was my very first concert...Poison/Tesla. Oh ya.

Steve playing football with the kids.  Waiting for parades to start is
trying for little ones. Who am I kidding...for big ones too.

Mardi Gras!!!

It's Mardi Gras season here. I'll post some photos soon. :)
Sorry, Pats.

Happy New Year, Happy Birthday, Happy King Cake Day!

You better be a good year, 2012!
Here in New Orleans, January 6th is King Cake Day. For those of you not familiar, think giant cinnamon roll with icing and sprinkles and a plastic baby doll hiding in the cake. Robin was lucky enough to get the baby at school. This means he is King for the day and has to bring the next King Cake to the next party. I am liking these Nola traditions.

No, I'm not 433 years old. We had no 7, so the boys had put the 3 and the 3+4 on the cake. 37? That doesn't sound right.
I swear this wasn't rigged. I got the baby on my birthday! Robin was beyond delighted. He looks out for his mom.
