Big Papa and Abuela came down to visit for a week. By this point I was going crazy wanting to get out of the rain and hit a beach. There are only so many bounce houses and arcades you can visit before getting burnt out. I was jealous while perusing facebook and seeing everyone lounging on the beach, taking day trips here and there while I was stuck in NOLA with no friends or family.

| Family arrives! We headed to Gulfport & Biloxi, MS. |
| I wish I could say the beach was awesome. The sand was, but the warm weather had brought the jellyfish in. Both grandparents got stung before we finally decided to stay out of the water. Without the water to cool off, it got hot. |
| We did adventure to the Lynn Meadow's Discovery Center, |
| where there were tea parties and flights to Mexico... |

It was a great, full week when Abuela & Big Papa were here. We miss them. What next? The Coast Guard's Birthday. We headed over to the Air Station in Belle Chasse for lots of fun at Coast Guard Day. Luckily, no rain that day, and man, I should have brought my bathing suit. I planned on staying a couple hours, but Robin was having so much fun and I was chatting with old friends that we closed the place down.

| Bubble pit. This I hadn't seen before, and the kids loved it. |
| They had a water balloon station, water slides, and bounce houses. |
| Ed & Adrienne, whom we've known since Miami days. |
| Not ready to leave after 4 hours of water sliding |
| What else to do indoors? Cook. |
| And use a mallet and chisel to find hidden gems |
| I'm not exaggerating when I say the rain this summer came down in sheets. |

The NO Museum of Art is having a story every other Saturday.
What a great excuse to go. I will have to go alone, one day, though. I found myself longing to look at Cornell, Matisse, Degas....(and the list goes on)...but I could only get a second or two before R was on to the next thing. |

And, yes, this summer we have been playing video games.
He's on a Super Mario kick right now. |
I start back to school on Monday and Robin starts Kindergarten on Tuesday. That's exciting; we are most definitely ready for a change in our routine. We've also signed up for our first 5K as a duo and Joe comes home for Labor Day weekend passing through for a conference in DC. Yay! We hope your summer has been great. XOXO
