Continued

Weekend Recap: We went to Water Country on one of the busiest days ever. Bad idea, but we had fun. I do think Joe & I got dehydrated because we were dragging with headaches the whole rest of the weekend. Our neighborhood also had a summer kick-off party, so socializing and bounce housing was had. Here is a photo from our walk back from the party. Deer are everywhere here. They seem to be following us around. This is the 3rd place we have lived that has been full of deer (other places being the Keys and West Point). Could this have been the same deer that accompanied me on my jog earlier that day? Hmmm.

On Memorial Day, we met our buds the Dubs at Colonial Williamsburg. It was another scorcher, but all 4 boys held up fairly well during the heat and all the walking.
Real cannons were shot
and a bugle was played
Of course there was a stop at the toy store for hats and "shooters", and lunch. Then we all went to the pool at our house and cooled off.

Happy Memorial Day!

Hope your summer kick-off weekend goes great. We plan on attending some cook-outs, going to the pool, Water Country, dabble a little Colonial Williamsburg and still get our workouts in. Did I tell you I started jogging? I didn't because I'm afraid to write the words, afraid people will expect me to run an actual race. Ugh, not yet. I'll keep you posted though. I have noticed, though, how important my yoga practice is now that I'm jogging. It's even more of a necessity. Well, here are some photo updates...

We were beaching it a while back. The pools in our neighborhood open today. Yipee!! I'll post some pool pics soon.

Big Papa & Abuela went to Italy a few weeks ago. We went looking for them at Busch Gardens...not quite the same.

And then Dziadziu was here this week...reading books
and building legos. Thanks, Dad.

Keeping busy

Spring & summertime in Williamsburg definitely means Busch Gardens. This year, Robin is tall enough to ride some real rides. He loves the log flume and kiddie coaster.

Joe had a birthday at the end of March. It was nice and low key with lots of balloons & streamers.
And more Busch Gardens...

Here in Kingsmill, we have a small, but very convenient beach. we can walk there and play in the waves and sand when it's 92 degrees in April. I think we're going today too.
We just had to drive up to DC last weekend to meet baby Olin, Tom & Amy's new arrival. He is soooo cute.
Warm weather isn't the same without a playdate with Kyle at the Botanical Gardens.

Abuela, or should I say, "Bella" as Robin is calling her & Big Papa came to visit for a few days while Joe is away. We had so much fun and were so sad to see them leave this morning. Safe trip, guys!
Big Papa did lots of man-jobs while he was here. Finishing up a Spiderman bike...
...and then putting together Robin's new bunk bed, which we conveniently bought the night before Joe had to leave. Oops. :) Robin loves his new Batcave complete with glow-in-the-dark stars and bats hanging from above.
Thanks, Big Papa!

Easter 2010 photos of Robinson

Our Easter weekend started Saturday morning with our neighborhood's annual egg hunt. And it was no joke...a bounce house set up, zones for the different age groups, Easter Bunny and refreshments on hand, and tons of kids...some all dolled up...some (like mine) wanted to dress themself that morning complete with unmatching socks. Oh well, who cares. This is a photo of Robin in front of the 3 and under group's eggs. He did wait very well. This age 3 thing does have its perks.

Joe skilled Robin on the art of egg hunting with details on how to skip the eggs in front and go deep. See video in 2nd post for how that played out. Here he is with a full basket.
Inspecting the two-toned anomoly

Here we are all ready to crack open the goodies. Wanted you to see how many people were in the background. Now, before the hunt began we were informed that there were 3 eggs on the field with special tickets to bring to the Easter Bunny. After opening all of the eggs, which were filled with nothing that kids ages 0-3 could eat (gum, tootsie rolls and jolly ranchers-what!!??), there was one lone empty egg left.
Yes, we brought our prize ticket to the White bunny and he gave Robin a stuffed one and a big hug.
Then Sunday morning...green lantern jet, riddler, chocolate bunny, etc.

He was super excited to find all the eggs.
We went to our good friends, The Dubnansky's, for Easter dinner. Here is Michelle ringing around the rosey with her 3 boys and my one.

Kingsmill Easter hunt

More recent photos and commentary to come. This was this morning...

Joe needed to travel to Miami for work, so we tagged along. Too bad it was still jacket weather. We made it to the beach anyway.

Checking out the city from the hotel room.
Checking out the Miami Children's Museum.

The museum had a Subway in it, but it also had an icecream case within reach. I hate it how kids' places do that.
What a life!
A long wait at the airport for Dad to pick us up. We traveled without him.
After a long day of travel and a pitstop at a mall in Richmond, we had a trip to the ER. Robin's fingers got shut in a metal door. A month later, they still look swollen, and nails are falling off. One more trip to the Dr. tomorrow to set my mind at ease that they are healing properly.
Getting a ribbon from Coach Brandy in gymnastics.
Holding a handpainted chocolate from Tom & Amy.
Robin & 8 month pregnant Amy last week when she was in town.
Pretending to be a pirate at the park today, even though it looks to me like he is saying "Namaste".
A very sad thing has happened in our family. My cousin Michael was in a car accident Saturday, March 6th. He was such a teddy bear and always there with a huge smile and warm hug. Please send loving thoughts of comfort and healing to my Aunt Annie and cousin Gina. He is so missed.
