A new grocery store opened near us called Bloom. Thank you Bloom for the best car cart I have used. It's easy to maneuver unlike most huge clunkers that knock everything over as you're trying to shop.

Most of the time he only says Mama when asked to
So our car insurance co. called the other day to verify correct information on our account. They asked about Joe's job, his rank, and then proceeded to ask, "And you're a homemaker, right?" Why did that comment catch me off guard? The outdated terminology? The question I posed to myself...do I make a home? I suppose...but most days it doesn't seem like it. Sure most days I can do 15 minutes of cardio, a shower, morning kitchen clean-up, and brush teeth (and that's just me stuff. Don't forget all that comes with taking care of a 14 month old...feeding, clothing, diapering, playing, bringing to play areas, etc.) I am lucky to have dinner ready in the evening, and real lucky to get to watch any recorded DVR shows...read...Ha! (I am trying to read though). Sometimes I do say, "forget the dishes and the milk spilled floor. I'm watching Oprah, damn it!".
On other "Katie" notes, I got my haircut yesterday. Most of you know I'm not a short hair girl. My hair is just at the shoulders now. I know haircuts usually make you feel better afterward. But this time I felt so much weight just dropping off me, it was great. Although it is still in it's salon blow-dried state...who knows what will come when I wash it. Yes, I will wash it, besides, they always con you into buying product for it anyway (which was easy with a gift certificate in hand). If you haven't visited the salon lately for hair, nails, massage, whatever, get your fanny over there! You deserve it.

Reaction to Mom slurping a popsicle

Believe it or not, he was laughing harder than this before I took out the camera.

Babies in Baskets

Somewhere there is a photo of me at Robin's age in a wicker basket. If I find it I'll post it. Mom, do you have it?

Happy Birthday, Mom

Tomorrow is my Mom's birthday. Aw, isn't she cute?
Happy Birthday to Jessica and Brianna too. Celebrate in style, girls.

Recent pics

Robin with his passion in life...The Wiggles and his own "Big Red Car". Okay, so I hope "passion in life" is an exaggeration
Saying "cheese" and squinting for the flash
Pick me up for the trillionth time, Mom.

Today at Birdie's Indoor Play area. So I pick the warmest week in February to try a week at this place. Oh well.

We love getting mail...

...especially when it's a Hokey Pokey Elmo in a box full of packing peanuts.

action shot
and back to the peanuts after bath time

Thanks, Kennedy family! I know it looks like Robin liked the packing stuff more, but trust me, I haven't hokey pokeyed that much since preschool.

Barnes & Noble

We went to the bookstore today. We usually do that about once a week. It is conveniently next to the grocery store so I can run in and get a few items (today milk, toilet paper, & cat food), then mosey over to Barnes & Noble to sip my Chai Tea Latte as R. plays with the train set and proceeds to take 50 or so books off the shelves that I have to put back. Okay, so my tea goes unsipped as it sits high on a bookshelf while I chase after my toddler, but it tastes yummy on the car ride home.

As promised, Grammy, here is a video of Robin walking. Robinson started walking when we returned to Virginia, and is now really getting the hang of it. It was so odd at first to see this short little guy meandering around (& falling a lot too), but now it seems like he has been walking for a long time.
