Family visit

My niece, Priya was Christened in the beginning of January. She is getting so big! It was nice to make a trip to visit family, and not so nice that we had a 3 day storm while we were there. But that is New England for you. Here is the girl of honor...

I love this photo of Robin & Rocky, although it's a bit toturous. Rocky LOVES kids, especially licking them in the face. Robin felt relief from the licking, but Rocky was so sad to be on the other side of the glass.

We did make it back from our trip, only down one apple laptop which was stolen from our checked baggage! But as soon as we got home, my birthday crept up...wow...35..I'm not supposed to tell you that huh?
Robin sporting a new haircut. I have been the only one to take Robin for a haircut until this one. Joe tagged along and I learned loads of information about guy's cuts. I usually tell the lady to do whatever, and Joe discusses levels of fading, square neck, no sideburns, and long on the top. Who knew? Joe wants a zero fade next time, and even longer on the top. Maybe he'll take him from now on. :)
Not sure if you knew, but we got walloped with snow last weekend. Everything here shuts down since they just don't have the equipment for plowing. This was a first in the 3 years we've been here. Needless to say, we don't even have a shovel or sled. We borrowed a shovel from the neighbor and sent Robin down the golfcourse hills in an inflatable pool toy boat. What fun! I didn't bring the camera so I could "live in the moment", but you should have seen how fast he went! The forecast might be calling for snow again tomorrow. We'll see.

The month started off with a visit from Tom & Amy. Amy was in Yorktown for work, so they both came down for a few days. We hit the Williamsburg Winery for the 1st time. It was the perfect day for it.

Then Dziadziu and Pra-Babci (My Dad and grandmother) stopped in for a night on their way to Florida. It was so nice to see my Babci and I think she had a nice time too. Dziadziu brought a big boy Spiderman bike with training wheels. I'll get photos of that when the time comes I guess. Here's a photo that Robin took.

We were on our way to the outlet mall when the snow started coming down. Needless to say, a 3 year-old's first encounter with snow is amazing fun. Dad & Robin stayed outside the whole time snowball fighting while I shopped. Unfortunately the rain had washed it all away by morning.
They came in once in a while to warm up and hide under the clothing racks of course.
Then, what to do on Christmas Eve? Go see Santa at the North Pole at Christmastown (Busch Gardens). If I was patient enough I would have taken lots of photos of the lights. They did a great job. But you'll have to settle for these instead.


While Dad was coaching from the side, Robinson told Santa what he wanted him to bring for Christmas.

Christmas Eve

Playing with new toys. Both boys were. Joe was playing Wii while Robin was racing his car. However, I will not post a photo of Joe in his robe playing Wii. He wasn't amused that I took a photo of it in the first place. Nurse that baseball injury, honey.
The day after Christmas we had a really nice visit with our friends, Kelly, John & Lola Bourcet. Here is Lola & Robin.

Oh my gosh, I hope everyone had a great December too! Ours was packed, and off to Boston on Friday. Wish us luck with traveling and storms too. Bye!

Holy forgotten blog, Batman!

Are you telling me I haven't posted anything since early October? Sorry family & friends who actually still check in on us. Let's see...

October was good. We pumpkin carved.

And trick-or-treated with our Dubnansky friends in Chesapeake.

You might recognize Batman and Batgirl (me). Joe went as Nightwing...for those of you who aren't blessed with comic book fans in your house, Robin leaves Batman and becomes Nightwing.

We stayed up so late and had so much sugar, that waking up the next morning was not happening.

We also met Kyle at The VA Living Museum. Lots of fun and room to run.




Then it was off to New England for Thanksgiving. We visited Jenn & Rish in their new house. Here are the cousins...look at Priya eating her cookie and the tiny pot belly. SO CUTE!

We stayed at the Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster. I lived in Brewster from age 1 until age 11. Whenever we would drive by, I was awed at how fancy the place looked, like a castle on the water. Never thought I'd step foot in it. Thank you off-season rates, and being in a position to afford things we never could growing up. I suppose I should thank my hard-working husband too. Thanksgiving dinner is at Aunt Becky's. Sure I loved the food and desserts, but the feeling of being around family and having fun was worth the trip. Here is my brother and my hubby.

The desserts. Not sure if I can remember each one, but I'll try. Apple Spice cake, Chocolate Kahlua cheesecake, Blueberry pie, Almond raspberry tart, Fruit crumble pie, cupcakes with mango glaze, pumpkin trifle, chocolate raspberry torte. My mom's blueberry pie took 1st prize in Uncle Aaron's annual dessert contest.

I think I might need to save December happenings for the next post. We have had visits from grandparents, a great grandparent, Tom & Amy and a birthday celebration so far this month. Happy 3rd birthday, Robinson and hooray for potty training! (knock on wood) I'll post again soon. I promise. Happy holidays and remember all of the good in others and in you. The hustle and bustle can get stressful, try to breathe deep and focus on the happy.
